Help with DesktopX Pro installation

Sunday, September 11, 2005 by brieaux | Discussion: DesktopX

I just purchased DesktopX Pro & upon installation it wants to default install to this destination folder:
C:\ProgramFiles\Stardock\ObjectDesktop\IconX

Is this the correct directory? Wouldn't it be installed in?
C:\ProgramFiles\Stardock\ObjectDesktop\DesktopX ?

When I browse to that folder it automatically adds IconX anyway like this:
C:\ProgramFiles\Stardock\ObjectDesktop\DesktopX\IconX

So where should I install it? Also does it matter if I install it over the DesktopX in my Stardock Central or should I uninstall DesktopX in SC first? Thanks so much for any help.

1. Yes you should always uninstall a feature-limited version before loading a more comprehensive version. So uninstall DesktopX before installing DesktopX Pro.

2. DesktopX Pro will always by default install to the

C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDesktop\DesktopX\

directory. If for some reason your copy is rather installing to the

C:\...\IconX

directory, verify you are actually installing DesktopX and not IconX. The default directory is embedded in the setup file and the only way it could change is through modification or corruption.
