installing themes that are not ".desktop"??

Noob is confused.

Wednesday, August 31, 2005 by tshu | Discussion: DesktopX

Okay, Noob question probably but.. How do I install themes that are NOT ".desktop" files. I have downloaded a bunch of themes for DesktopX, some are just simply one file (i.e. "cooltheme.desktop") but some are zip files that contain a very large number of files inside (png's, ini's, etc) I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make these particular themes work..

any help would be greatly appreciated!

okay, well, that kindof worked. I am able to load the theme, but all of the ones I do this way are very glitchy (missing graphics, script errors, ect.) Any reason for this? What am I doing wrong??

It has to do with the "way" in which you download content. Ever since the SP2 update to windows XP people have been having these kinds of problems.

Check out Corky_O's tutorial at Link
it should help you avoid problem downloads.
