Thanks for the prompt reply. Do you have any info on which performs better, or is each product -- Avast and NOD 32 -- about the same?

I don't think ANY AV benefits from X64, so I wouldn't base a decision on what to run on that.
Avast is mediocre at best.
I always recommend VBA32 or DrWeb.. Nod32 is ok though.

Will the big companies (i.e. Symantec and McAfee) offer 64 compatible software come their new releases for 2006?
