Image editors

paint shop pro 8 vs 9

Saturday, August 20, 2005 by BONEHEADdb | Discussion: Customization Software

I want an Image editor that I can create and edit tga files with. I,m going to buy Paint shop pro 8, is there any reason I should spend more and get 9?

Im a PSP user. (Hail PSP!!) Psp 8 should be fine for tga's. PSP 7 is also graet, and you may be able to get it at a discounted rate. I downloaded a trial version of PSP 9 once, and although its good, the earlier versions are just as good. I dont know too much aboubt Photoshop.

I use PSP8, but it doesn't support saving the alpha channel in .tga format. You have to save the images as .png's and let SkinStudio do the conversion to .tga, which it will do on the fly. Not sure if that holds true in PSP9.

I use Photoshop CS. Though i think Photoshop 7 is better in creating tga files. It is faster and no hassles on defining an alpha channel. OR as Daiwa says, save the image as a png and
let SkinStudio do the conversion to .tga
