Vista icon editor

Friday, August 19, 2005 by vlastimilmiler | Discussion: Icons

Hi guys,

some of you may be interested...
We have completed and released a special version of our icon editor that fully supports Vista icons. It has all the common features + it can also convert Vista icons to XP icons. That means saving the large images without compression.
Check it out here: Windows Vista Icon Editor

I have also put together a short doc about Vista and XP icons

BTW: Some of the hi-res icons circulating the web have corrupted headers and Windows Vista is unable to use the large image from those icons. Current version of our icon editor will refuse to open those icons at all.

Looks nice.

But... wasn't Vista suppose to feature vector icons? (And GUI for that sake, haven't seen much of that in the Vista news lately...)

in Beta 1, there are only these 256x256 raster icons, but Explorer can resample them quite nicely...
