Icon Packager won't load

Monday, July 25, 2005 by InUnison | Discussion: IconPackager

Help! I cannot load Icon Packager... uninstalled the program & reinstalled it again... no luck. reinstalled the last version of 3, same problem. Any idea why? I am running XP sp2 with all updates current. Also virus protected & firewalled. Thanks for any help!

There was a problem with the most recent prior beta inadvertently requiring some sort of activation. There is a new beta up on SDC within the past 3-4 hours which reportedly fixes this. Try updating to it & see if that was the problem.

Daiwa...

Thanks so much, that worked. Funny, but I looked for a beta earlier, and there wasn't one. Duh!!! Now back to work fixing my icons. You're response was so fast, thank you!

Hi Daiwa,

Well... the beta program opened, but wouldn't change any icons. All hell broke out, so I erased my hard drive & reinstalled my whole computer thinking there might be some other problem. Not sure I want to install Icon Packager again... waiting to see if others are still having problems even with the beta 3.00d(.002. Sure miss Icon Packager!!!

Pleasantly Surprised, prior to erasing your hard drive (which I, personally, have never done...man, that sounds like a drastic move) did you contact tech support at [email protected]?  They will need to know the version of IP that you are using, what OS you use and what software you are running when you have issues.  They will also need a full description of the problem (ie: when does IP quit responding and does it give any errors)

Thanks Big Cheese,

I will keep that in mind next time. Everything running smooth now, but didn't install Icon Pkg.
