SDC Crashing windows

Sunday, June 26, 2005 by Cadvridoc76 | Discussion: Object Desktop

Hi,

I have recently upgraded my pc to an Athlon64 system and still run WinXP. Installing SDC has consistantly crashed the system to the point where i have to reinstall WinXP completely again. it appears to be corrupting the registry or something like that, as it won't even boot into windows most of the time, after rebooting. but if i'm lucky i have got back in and been able to uninstall SDC and use system again. but that is not common at all. any ideas or suggestions would be much much appreciated!

I have had problems with registry entries with recent Icon Packager updates. I've had to uninstall the program and manually remove the registry entries to regain normal computer operation.

I'm running an AMD XP 2800+ with Win XP Pro.

I have e-mailed Tech support about this problem and am waiting for a response. I don't know if this is the problem you are experiencing.

I too have had problems with SDC I have rebuilt my computer from scratch 3 times now and until I read Citizen jeffreyw problems with his registry entries and recent Icon Packager updates. I did not realize this was the problem until I uninstalled the program and manually removed the registry entries to regain normal computer operation.

I'm running Win XP Pro.

In all the years of using stardock programs, this is the first time I've had something like this happen

I still think stardock software and it's people are great, I hope the come up with a fix soon as I miss my icons.
