Project (Paid) & Some Newbie Questions

Sunday, June 5, 2005 by Avalerion | Discussion: Beginners

There's two parts to this.
The first being that I need a custom Desktop X theme. If someone wants to do this, or recommend one, I'm interested.
What I want in this though, is a Desktop X theme that's very clean, and is as easy to use as the standard Windows XP interface. I have a logo I would like to incorporate into it. The thing with this theme is that I don't want all those external application links such as Photoshop, etc. There are a few main programs being used < 10. I would like direct links to all of them (with icons.) This Desktop X theme MUST WORK with a touchscreen monitor. The icons and maneuvering throughout must be large and easy to handle on a 17" touch screen. This project is worth a few bucks, so if you're interested, let me know.

Linking from the previous idea, when it comes to Desktop X themes, is it possible to completely customize the links/text thrown about the desktop theme? When there is text saying "Photoshop," can it be changed to Paint Shop Pro for example, and linked to the application? And in doing such a thing, how easy is it? Also, do you need the Desktop Object/Widget in order to create a link with an icon for Firefox or some object not included in the theme?

The time frame for the project is one week. The newbie questions are just there because I don't have the time to a) create a theme since I'm using this as an experimental route for a touch screen monitor or learn all the features in a week. I hate saying that, but I'm pressed.

So if anyone can help, it's appreciated!

Not too hard since I can do it most of the time. You have to use the builder mode.

Some are easier than others. One of the ones I like practicing on is SSDD-DX by Phoon.

Still in need? I'm almost finished with a complete OS replacement for another company, and the need sounds about the same. You can email me at xixao3d[at]gmail[dot]com if you still need this project done.
