Somewhat odd hardware problem..
Or noise, rather

If you've ever played with the little matchbox toy cars, you know the sound it makes if you run it along something to get the wheels going, and then hold it in the air? The sound is almost exactly like that..
If you don't know that sound...think of a cat hacking up a hair ball, it's sort of like that, but not as loud and more drawn-out.
I'm thinking it's a fan that's clogged or blocked or something so it can't spin, but I didn't see anything when I checked real quick this morning.
I'm going to do a little bit more in-depth probing tonight if it's still going-on..
Until then, though, does anyone have any advice/ideas?

| I just got home from school and I don't hear it anymore |
It's bad when noises insode your box suddenly appear but it's even worse if they just as suddenly disappear again!
As mentioned, you'd better check your fans/bearings for dust asap!

Then plug your PC back in and start it up with the case still open. See if it's still making the noise, and if it is, try to listen for the source. Assuming it's just a fan, you'll probably want to replace it. If it's one of the powersupply fans you'll need to replace the whole PSU.
If the noise is coming from one of your hard drives, it's probably on its way out, and it's definitely time to back up your data.
