compositing in maya 6.0

How do u stop objects from AntiAlising against the background?

Friday, June 3, 2005 by eyeJ | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Ok so I planed to make some icons in maya but here is the problem:
how do u make the objects look correct??
Full mate objects have a stupid outline caused by the AntiAlising??? How u fix that??
& What about the glass? how to make it blend correctly with any background??
I got to a crazy idea to make a compleate skin out of true 3D. Can ya help me?
I've heared about some setting called "compositing flag" but i cant find it in render globals.
Do I need to type something in the Maya's command line??

Is there a way, anyway? If not in maya witch program shold i use??
Any ideas?

Maya? I don't think people in here fork out four to five digits sums on software just to make an icon. I'm sure there some kind of distance masking option which you can composite with the original rendering in Photoshop to get the proper anti-aliasing.

Most people here use plain old vector or bitmap apps, like Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDraw or what not, not high-end modelling software.

I downloaded for free the Maya 6.0 Personal Learning Edition. I know it doesn't have all the options of the main program, but I think it allows you to basically go through the processes and save your work. I have tried doing a couple of icons with it but got too frustrated and haven't gone back.

Yet!

& just to explain some more makeing icons with vector programs is greate! but now i whant to do something original u know every tool leves it's mark on the art and it is easy to tell that mormegils icons were made in CorelDraw. I made some of my icons to & they look like copy paste of mormegils u just cant get rid of the mark the tool leves. It is the way that the tool works witch makes them look so. Mormegil is a true master in that way of devlopeing icons. And he made the best looking icon pack that i think is possible to make in CorelDraw. The icons are just perfect why to change something wich is allready perfect? Now i wish to explore more diferent stuff! Like 3D. Alldow photography will allways be my favorite i like to make skins & I spend a lot of time makeing my skins. The end resoult is quite awesome... i think. Also i plan to get Inotus 3 A4 this sommer & then i will do some greate stuff even faster & beter. So I ask u will you help me?
