Problem with DesktopX 3

very serious problems

Wednesday, May 25, 2005 by andrewwang | Discussion: DesktopX

the last time I installed DesktopX 3, things got very bad.
I use Windows XP Home sp2 and I couldn't open Windows Media Player 10. My internet explorer couln't execute java script. After uninstallation of DesktopX, it was still the same. I couldn't even do a system restore, so I had to reinstall my os.

I think DesktopX is really great and I would really want to have fun with it, but what is the reason causing all these problem avoiding me from using it?

Your Windows Script instalation might have been broken. Try reinstalling Windows Script: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C717D943-7E4B-4622-86EB-95A22B832CAA&displaylang=en

I read this other post:

And I'm just wondering if reinstalling Windows Script will make all problems go away.
I'm just very tired of reintalling my os.

It might do. No guaranty. Reinstalling Windows Script is alot less work than reinstalling your OS.

this solve the problem:

go to Startmenu --> Run and type: regsvr32 jscript.dll
and hit ok then do the same with regsvr32 vbscript.dll

thats all
