Is there a program that customizes sounds

Before you start flaming me, I mean a program that gives windows extra sound events. Cause "I WANT MY PC TO BURP WHEN A DISK COMES OUT

Mabye I didn't explain that too well. Lets try it again.
The sounds tabs of the sound control applet. It has several times when the computer can make a sound. Asterisks, critical batterys, and closing of programs, for example. Is there any program out there that gives you more of these events, like Mac's Eject event or Ubuntulinux's selectcheckbox sound event.
