Problem with cursorxp

I'm using cursorxp 1.31 and for some reason it is now acting wierd. When I mouse over either my rainlendar or my desktopx widget the cursor goes underneath these two items, nothing else. Anyone have a clue how to remedy this?

If you use the cursors at a bigger size, try resizing it back to 100%.
I have had the problem of the cursor going behind message screens and other things too. Sometimes it becomes invisible.

I just recently started having the same problem, but generally it's only after I play a game. As soon as I close out of a game the cursor will go under all objects, widgets, winamp, etc. Rebooting my computer does work, but it's a bit annoying. Any idea why playing a game would causet his to happen?

Two days ago I dl'd/installed cursorxp. I LOVE IT!!! But today this same thing started to happen and now WILL NOT STOP! My cursor ends up behind some windows and I have to GUESS where it is. I have now disabled cursorxp, much to my regret.
Please fix this - give us a solution. I want my newly-acquired fantastic cursors back.

| I hate to tell you all this, but that problem of occasionally the cursor going under objects has been reported for about a million years. Either they can't find the cause, or it's not a priority. Maybe v2 will fix it. |

I have found that changing then re-changing the screen resolution can sometimes whack things into the right order. It's the only thing I've found that will get the cursour back on top of everything without rebooting.
But, after doing this I usually have to unload and restart ObjectDock, because it's drawing icons behind backgrounds.

To the powers that be that have the knowledge that I obviously do NOT:
I figure the more specific details you get on this problem, the easier it will be for you to come up with a solution...
CursorXP worked wonderfully this morning, after my computer had a peaceful night's rest of being turned off. The cxp worked all morning perfectly - was in front of every window it should be.
Then I played online HalfLife Oz.
After that, the cursorxp was behind some windows. I used ccleaner, windows registry repair, played with a bunch of mouse settings and cursorxp settings, and restarted the machine --- STILL cxp would not come on top of some windows.
I completely turned off the machine, spun around three times waving my pet hamster Danny in the air, turned it back on, and whalla!!! It now works again.
Perhaps this will guide the "fixers" out there toward their ultimate solution.

I used to have this problem too, only after playing a full screen directx game. When I would return to the desktop, only occasionally, my cursor would "go behind" as I came to think of it.
I noticed that occasionally going back into and out of the game would restore the cursor. Sometimes, just changing my resolution would fix the problem. The only surefire way of fixing it was a reboot, no pet hamster required.
Since then I have got a new system, with a new graphics card, and have yet to see the problem. My old graphics card was a Geforce 440mx, my new one is a Geforce 6600GT. My general workaround when I was experiencing the problem, and didn't want to reboot, was to have a "toggle cursorXP" shortcut easily available (basically just a link to CursorXP.exe) which I would use if I wanted to use rainlendar or widgets.

Welp, apparently a good night's sleep does not always work. Today the lil' cxp guy STARTED OUT BEHIND some menus. Problem is, one of those menus is always my To: popup menu in my email prg and it's kind of hard to find the right recipient in the list.
I find it hard to believe that this problem has existed for so long and no-one has solved this. Do the "fixers" know about this thread? Do they read it? With all the computer geniuses out there, I would think this would be a challenge to at least one of them.
I want to encourage a friend of mine to get CursorXP but I can't do that if it has a SERIOUS PROBLEM! "Oh, it will work, most of the time."

I'm having this problem as well. Cxp cursors go 'behind' my WB5 windowframes... I have to watch for the glow on the min/max/close buttons to know which one I've reached, as the cursor is behind the window decorations at that point. Almost always happens after playing fullscreen games.
It may seem like I've raised a dead horse to beat, but the problem hasn't ever been addressed by anyone from Stardock that I can see, and it's quite annoying.

My last update shows 12/6/2004.
Cursor XP is moving awfully close to abandonware. I wish it had been rolled into ODNT; a little more attention might be applied.
I don't imagine that there's much incentive for Stardock to improve CXP. -=sigh=-

That was what I was going to say. This happens often to me and rebooting is the only way I fix it. Clueless as to why it happens also.

I have had the same issue reported above. I think I've tried Gary's fix with no positive results. I'll try again and report back.
I think CXP is fine feature-wise. But when a problem is reported and not addressed, I see that as abandoned.
And for the record, I have no problem with that; old apps die. New apps come along.
I'd rather see ThinkDesk desk move forward rather than CXP get upgraded. But rebooting is not a "fix". It's a treatment.

The problem is not a bug in CXP though, its an OS bug/glitch.
