Is there a tutorial on how to create logons?

I'm a total newbie skinner

I have never skinned a thing in my life (that's why I am so impressed with some of the people here). I'm kinda weird about having things match and would like to be able to make logons that match wallpapers I have downloaded. They are for my own use, unless permission is given of course. But I do know enough to know that just replacing the bitmap_100 isn't going to give me a quality logon. Is there anyplace someone can direct me to that can teach me how to correctly create a logon, and what kind of programs I might need?

Thanks for any help

there was a really basic tutorial, that i think comes with logon studio...
ive only found two tutorials on the nitty gritty with logons (if you use stylexp, its code hacking.. and they have a dodgey way of loading the logons anyway).

youre best taking someones, and learning from it (without ripping them off).

i personally use Photoshop (CS 2 to be precise), and in conjunction with PSP 7.. i was a bit disappointed that logon studio doesnt allow everything to be changed, so i went to the next level and i modify the style code directly.
what i normally do, is i draw up on paper the basic design (where things will be, whats the wallpaper, etc) then slowly work on it in photoshop, then cut and save the individual images, then set the font, text, colour, etc.
