Friday, May 13, 2005 by Cavan1 | Discussion: Stardock Support General

When open Stardock Central it lets me know that an update is available for SkinStudio Prof., I only have the free version of SkinStudio.
Stardock Central 2.07a(.110,build 86

View/Show/Hide Applications...un-check Standard, check Pro.

Tools/Check for Application Updates...

Any combo of Standard, Pro checked, unchecked made no difference. Stardock Central is showing Pro 4.51 installed, but
it is not only free. Shows same version for Standard as well. With both hidden still get update notice.
Thanks yrag.

The Pro version should be 4.51 dated 02/07...when you start it up the splash screen shows the Standard version? If it does, I would try un-installing it and doing the check/un-check routine and see if it gives you the Pro version. It clearly states on the Splash that it's the Pro version....when it's actually installed.
My guess is, since it's giving you a long overdue update notice, that it knows you're entitled to the Pro version and all you have to do is figure out how to make it give it to you...

Splash screen shows no version, just SkinStudio, and free version delay. Only purchased Stardock apps I have are
WindowBlinds and IconPackager. Only other thing I have paid for is WC subscription. Should not be entitled to Pro.
First time this update showed up I click update, nothing happened, update window just closed.
Thanks for your response yrag, I will just see if in time it clears up itself.

Update: uninstalled SkinStudio Free version, open Stardock Central, no update for Pro. Download, reinstall free version, open Stardock Central, shows update for Pro version again.

When the prompt comes up again, check not to show this update again. If it's showing in the column, right click on it and click Hide.

There's no such option. You either have to option to turn notifications off for everything or nothing. The only time you get that option is for SDC itself.
