how to shutdown, logoff computer?

Is it possable to add a icon, or something to shutdown computer, logoff etc. without having to unhide windows taskbar everytime

There are other ways also..if you have an internet keyboard (most systems come with them standard these days) All you have to do is press the button on it that should read "Shutdown" ...
You can also put your PC in standby by pushing the "Standby" button...
On my keyboard there are over 20 buttons with 20 different tasks attached to them.. ::laughs:: there are ALOT of things you can do with a single push of a button these days!!
The buttons on the keyboards are often not used..but they do work..LoL

@double zero: no i don't want it to shutdown straight away. i want something like windows start menu where it says turn off then pops up asking if u want to restart, shutdown or stand by. and the other one i want is to be able to log off and switch users.
@clwoods: i have objectdock plus. i've looked in the docklet tab the propertise, but it only has calander, msn and a few others nothing for what i want to do

Hmmmm. Mine has shutdown, show/hide taskbar, object dock tray, and weather docklets plus a couple others. Maybe you can download them from the Object Dock page by putting in Docklets.

I have XP Pro. I have Switch User and LogOff Shortcut docklets. They work well.
Switch User Shortcut Docklet:
1. Right Click Dock. Rest cursor on Add.
2. When menu appears, Left Click "New Shortcut" on menu.
3. Right Click New Shortcut on Dock.
4. When menu appears, Left Click "Dock Entry Properties..." on menu.
5. Dock Entry Properties thing appears.
6. Fill in Boxes in Dock Entry Properties:
Title: Switch User
Link: C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe
Arguments: user32.dll,LockWorkStation
Start In: %windir%
Run: Normal Window
7. Find suitable icon or .PNG to link to. Link it.
Logoff Shortcut Docklet:
1. Right Click Dock. Rest cursor on Add.
2. When menu appears, Left Click "New Shortcut" on menu.
3. Right Click New Shortcut on Dock.

You can also do it with Sysmetrix by right clicking on it. http://www.customize.org/list/sysmetrix/5/5/
There is also Object Bar https://www.stardock.com/products/objectbar/
If there are other ways, I do not know them. Hope this helps
