<FONT face=Arial color=#000000 size=2>Uh, IconPackager replaced some default xp icons with icons from another pack.<BR><BR>I went to Tools > Restore all Icons, and yep....My default icons are gone. <IMG src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Laugh.gif" align=absMiddle border=0></FONT>

Does it to mine too, always has (been using it for years). One of those bite the bullet things I guess.

I did a System Restore to 3 days ago and created a restore point. All my icons are reset with no problems now. I just reinstalled IconPackager again. If I have any more problems later, I can just go back to the restore point.

The thing is, some packages have icons that are not standard so when you restore to the originals it throws all the other icons off. When you go to restore to default it sometimes picks up odds and ends from other packages and your kind of stuck with them because there are no windows default. You can either delete those particular icons or choose to keep them it's up to you but, when you keep them it throws the packages that don't have that format a little off so...

I had my default windows .bmp, .jpg, .gif, and .wav changed.....funny thing is that they were all different themes.

Hm... you icons should still be on your system. They are contained in protected system files. It's the registry values that's broken I assume.
Have you tried rebuilding the icon cache? (Tools -> Rebuild Icon Cache)

Its alright now, I did a System Restore, but I'll try that if the problem occurs again.
