Also the fact that they are and have been hard at work trying to remedy the situation..But as Boss points out..
| I just come to expect it here every once in a while, they still are working on lots of things to get the site set up just right. |
A little patience and understanding will infact reduce your stress level and make you a happier person! LoL..
Best advice I can think of about it,
Hope it helps!,
Zero.

| With the amount of traffic this site gets just accept it as a fact of life..it's going to happen unfortunately |
Why? Many sites with high number of users don't have as much downtime as WC. deviantArt, Slashdot etc... many users doensn't mean a site have to go down often.

Seems more like a server or DNS issue (I believe the forums are on a dedicated server now, so that may be why connecting is possible).
If I am not mistaken, load speeds should be about the same for all servers when things are going correctly (though static pages are a bit faster if my limited web design knowledge serves).

Well Thomassen..I have just come to realize something from another thread.. I guess I have been fortunate or whatever because it really hasnt happened to me as often as it really seems to happen in general..It happens to me on occassion but apparently it happens ALOT to others...Odd..
Soooooo...I guess my reply is based upon my own experience which isa not accurate ...
For that I apologize and I have no explanation for my continued "good Luck" with the site...
Hopefully it will all get worked out soon...Perhaps they are doing maintenence or something? With the idea today would be a slow day for the servers considering it is Mothers day?? Just a guess..
Zero.

No need to apologize for whatever reason. I just questioned the logic.

Just bye now
(they'll have to find some more pigeon to test their products ... ( except if they give me back about 50 or 60 $ a year ...
Someone, PLEASE get this worked out. Is it possible we can have the old site back for when it's being worked out????!
I would say I am sorry to see ya go..but im not..especially when your calling *me a pigeon!!..
Call me crazy but when I decide to do something..I generally just do it..I do not feel the need to broadcast it to the world...
If I choose to leave..im gone..period..
Most people that must advertise their plans are more times than not looking for attention and someone to talk them out of doing something they really do not want to do...
Stardock and Wincustomize are awesome products and sites..one unhappy individual or more is too bad..but bound to happen..
Hope you change your perspective, but if not...
Have a happy one!
Zero.

neophil78 ...yes, everyone's been getting that recently....it'll be sorted.
Main issue is that maintenance/corrections normally occur during Business hours, US time. People [such as myself] outside those hours tend to see the issues before they are corrected.

Just to get one teensy thing straight....you've paid me exactly zero ....to me, or for me.
Not now, not in 1999, not ever....

And a question: why are we getting the double underlined links in comments, like in comment #16 above? It has been happening since the weekend.
