Using ObjectDock with Extended display
Friday, April 29, 2005 by Murray Laing | Discussion: ObjectDock
I only seem to be able to put tabbed docks onto my second display, I really
want to add a regular (untabbed) dock to the second display but I cannot
see a way to do this.
Any help welcome.

| If you put an untabbed autohiding dock on the shared edge of either monitor, i.e. the right edge of the left monitor or the left edge of the right monitor, does the dock "autohide" itself by sliding over to the other monitor |
yes...... I'm sure it will addressed in the future. Us "dual-Es" are a minority at present.

Go into the Object Dock Properties window for the untabbed dock. Select "Positioning" in the left section of the window. Within the Positioning settings in the right side of the window you should see "Monitor" as the third pull-down option, it will probably be blank. Click on the pull-down arrow for "Monitor" and it should let you select "Display 1" or "Display 2" or some such thing. When you select the monitor you want to switch it to the dock will immediately pop over.
And here's a question for you, (not meaning to hijack the thread, but we dual monitor people seem to be either a little rare or a little quiet):
If you put an untabbed autohiding dock on the shared edge of either monitor, i.e. the right edge of the left monitor or the left edge of the right monitor, does the dock "autohide" itself by sliding over to the other monitor in an unactive yet visible state (but responsive if you actually click on something)? That one's bugged me for awhile and I didn't get any response on it a couple of months ago. It doesn't happen with the tabbed docks.
Anyway let me know if you find the "Monitor" setting in there.
