Time up?

Hi there,
I have been using Iconpackager shareware for years and today it just all of a sudden decided I had expired my shareware and have to pay. Since when was there a timelimit on the unenhanced version. Anyone else have this trouble. Uninstalling and re-installing doesnt work either as it comes up and says the same thing.
Any help would be great.

Shareware by definition is a "try before you buy" product.
The full version is a great buy for $15, especially with all the great packages currently available.

Exactly, "the full version" it doesnt say anywhere I HAVE to upgrade as I am not a computer genius and dont know how to use all the functions. All I want is basic icon function. And it states the shareware version is FREE!!! Why pay for something that you dont get the full use from and, now that it isnt working. I wont bother using it. All it is is eyecandy. I love the work some of the people do with their stuff and have referred over 30 people to Stardock and their products so I am bringing them business.

With shareware...FREE...usually only means a free download...not free unlimited use. And if you can read you can use iconpackager...as well as most apps at stardock...you don't need to be a PC genius.

I was not trying to "flame" you, just being practical.
Shareware is only designed for short-term use so a consumer can decide whether or not to purchase a product. It serves to help in sales, not as a generous freebie forever.
The upgrades made over time make older versions, and shareware, obsolete. So many companies just put a time limit on the product to remove an incurred cost that does not justify itself.
The comments here are recommendations from people who have all paid for the product and believe it to be worth the money based on user experience.
I do not know what the actual time limit is on that version, and if you have uninstalled/reinstalled it (including deletion of the IconPackager sub-directory), then I would say that the free time limit is worn out.
It is eye candy, but so are all GUI components. I remember learning and using "Word for DOS" - talk about boring.
Anyway, take care and if you change your mind - I am sure your purchase will be appreciated.

Where does it state this? What I saw prior to buying (and it still states so at download(dot)com) that it is free to try.
Pesonally, I wasn't trying to flame. I just happen to be honest. If I have something that is free to try and my trial is up, I don't look for a way to hack/crack/fool my way back into it.
I either buy it if I like it and think it's worth it or I don't use it.
