Vertical taskbar

little help?

Thursday, April 14, 2005 by scrawnypaleguy | Discussion: WindowBlinds

Hey everybody, I was just curious about those vertical taskbars I keep seeing in screenshots. I know they're not smartbar XP or desktopsidebar (I currently run smartbar), so I was just wondering how you got it to do that. Also, if anyone has any experience with this, would Samurize toolbar configs still work in a vertical taskbar?

I assume you are referring to the XP TaskBar docked to either the left or right screen edge. All you need to to is make sure the TaskBar is unlocked (right-click on the TaskBar to see) and then left-click-and-drag the TaskBar to either side of the screen. It'll pop into place. You can then grab the Sizing Bar with the mouse and widen the TaskBar to a size of your preference.

Cheers,

What I see most always now isnt' a taskbar, rather it is a vertical menu setup on the desktop, akin to what MS has planned for the next windows desktop. WIth the bigger analog clock on top, and a bunch of junk under it.

Something like this? If so you are looking for a desktop theme program like desktopX, litestep, talisman, etc.

Thanks guys, that's just what I was looking for. Now to experiment with Samurize...
