Autohide problem

Screen goes blank

Monday, April 11, 2005 by tyyau | Discussion: Docks

I'm using the latest version of object dock. Once i start to use my browser to stream movies, my object dock goes crazy, one quarter of my screen will be gone when the OD goes to hide. If running normal applications the OD is fine. This only happens when i stream clips from the internet using quicktime. When i put my mouse over where the OD is it appears along with the rest of the screen that was gone. When i take it away, off goes the OD and the screen as well. Any pointers anyone? Thanks

tyyau,

I would try either disabling mouse activation on the dock settings Positioning tab, or unload OD when streaming.

Video can tend to be a resource hog, and magnification on OD will tend to spike the CPU. Hiding may be the last straw if things are already being pushed - (maybe load "Task Manager > Performance tab" and see if the CPU spikes when auto-hide kicks in).

Not sure if it will help, just a thought.
