You should look in the Firefox bookmarks and go the FF home page, It will lead you to the java download. Hope that helps!

I've had it before for FireFox not Thunderbird. I installed Mr TECHS Local Install. Now when I hit a problem like that, I save the file and the install locally. Not sure, but it may have to do with either SP2 causing it to be in the wrong file ext., or sometimes the jar isn't a jar.

thanks clwoods and bichur ... i already have java downloaded so, presumably, that's not the problem ... so i'll definitely check into the mr. techs suggestion.

No problem. Maybe something got messed up. You might want to dry deleting it and downloading again? Good luck. Hope you get it fixed. I hate it when something is'nt working right!
