DesktopX crashes

Thursday, March 24, 2005 by XX | Discussion: Stardock Support General

I am unable to even run DesktopX now. It crashes each time I run it now. It still happens even when I click Yes to create new theme. What can I do to fix this?

Try to remove the faulty theme manually by deleting (or moving) everything in C:\Documents and Settings\"your account"\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\DesktopX\Current Theme

If that doesn't work you might have to try a uninstall > reboot > reinstall.

Didn't work for me. DX3 still crashes on attempts to load any widget.

Wildharp: which version of DX are you using? The free version or the full version, and what number?

I know you might already have tried this, but use the OD-zapper https://www.stardock.com/files/odnt_zapper.exe to completely uninstall DesktopX (make sure to back up your themes, dxpacks and widgets before) then reboot and reinstall again.
