Not the ONLY way, but a good and safe way. Most of the log off and start buttons you find that don't come with a skin package (visual style), are changed with some sort of "hacking" program like Reshack a.o. Using programs like that to alter your system files like the shell32.dll and msgina.dll, can make Windows stop working at first re-boot - even in safe-mode, or after you install an update, another program, change your configuration etc.
