Want to add windows shortcuts, but don't know where they are located

Friday, March 11, 2005 by morwyn | Discussion: ObjectDock

I want to make shortcuts on OD+ to some items on the start menu, but i don't know where they are located. Specifically, I want to find the paths to the "search," "help & support," "run," "restart," and "turn off" buttons. I could really use the help...

Thank You,
morwyn

Many of those functions can't be accessed with a simple shortcut. Search the ObjectDock library for those words. You'll find docklets that will serve as shorcuts for most of them.

here's a few tools that will help, in case you'd rather not run too many docklets.

Windows Key + R = run, and Windows Key + F = Search.

Just in case you were unaware and hot-keys will do.

morwyn,

The Help & Support path in XP Pro is "C:\WINDOWS\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\Binaries\helpctr.exe" (where "C" is the letter drive).

Whether you have Home or Pro, it is probably the same.

If I find the others, will post here again.
