Uninstalling objectdock

Thursday, March 10, 2005 by LIBBY | Discussion: Docks

hi there i would like to know if somebody can help me on how to uninstall
objectdock, this is my situation i was in the process of changing my desktop icons with icon packager, and for some reason my pc froze and my object dock dissapeared, once i restarted my pc the icons on my desktop had changed but my objectdock did not start, so i decided to create a new one but this time it does not let me create new shorcuts.
i went ahead and tried to uninstall it and start all over but it just dont uninstall i tried:
using the uninstall in the objectdock directory
using add/removed programs
using your uninstaller 2004 and nothing works, just hangs but it wont uninstall.
should i install over or what else can i do (of course without formatting
my HD) thanks in advance. by the way i forgot to mention that i made sure nothing related to objectdock what running.

LIBBY,

This is what I would try:

Deselect any options in customization software to “Load automatically at startup” or similar.

Return Windows to the default theme including icons, and unload all programs.

Open “My Documents” and go to “Tools>Folder Options>View tab” and select “Show hidden files and folders”, then click “Apply”.

Now go to “C:\Documents and Settings\”user name”\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock” folder (where “C” is the letter drive, and “user name” is the name on the account when you are logged in), and delete any “ObjectDock” folders there.

Reinstall ObjectDock if you have not done so, and then reboot machine.

Go to “Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs” and uninstall ObjectDock, then reboot machine again.

Now go to “C:\Program Files\Stardock” folder (where “C” is the letter drive), and delete any “ObjectDock” folder left there.

Reinstall ObjectDock, reboot machine, Load ObjectDock, the Default theme should load – use some of the links in the default theme to verify the install was good.

If all is well, start customizing.

Sorry about the long instructions, just wanted to be clear.

I hope this helps.

If you have any more problems with other stardock problems you could try zapper. There is a link here. https://www.wincustomize.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=166&AID=69720#540241
