Problem with recording audio

Wednesday, February 23, 2005 by David Klakurka | Discussion: Windows XP

Ok, this just started happening yesturday, and just suddenly with out warning, I cant record audio. When I click on the record button on any sound recorder, the red "O" goes from red to grey (indicating that I am recording), but the little dial that shows how long I have been recording for doesnt move, and on Audacity, it doesnt move and the dial turns red. I'll give some other info. It's not my mic cause I can still use it to talk on MSN, and to talk 2 my comp. I just cant record my voice. I can play, and import songs, but I cannot record.

Thx,
David.

Only suggestion I could offer is check your settings in your recording software, they could have gotten changed somehow, perhaps you have recently installed other software? Thats usually the #1 culprit of settings getting changed without notice..

There are quite a few more knowledgable people here than I, perhaps one of them will jump in with a better idea of whats up.

Good Luck,

this is probably a duh kinda thing, but... check that the input you are trying to record is the input chosen on the volume control app in record mode (make sure you're hooked into your source)
