IE6 back one page acting funky

Thursday, February 17, 2005 by Cavan1 | Discussion: WinCustomize Site Issues

Had IE6 open to do some things it is needed for, when done logged in to WC. When in forums, open thread I had already opened, page loads
then goes to part of thread I was at last visit. IE6 seems to be treating this as another page, when click back arrow goes back to top of
page, instead of last page, have to click a second time to go back to forums page. Opened FF no problems with it.

Last I checked that was normal behaviour.  Click on a thread...takes you to your last read item....click back once gets you to the top of that page...twice gets you to the thread lists [Forum]...

Yes this is normal behavior.  What happens is that first you visiting a link like  w ww.wincustomize.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=188&AID=65412. The systems loads the page and determines what comment to put you on. To do this it then changes the location to point to the anchor tag at w ww.wincustomize.com/Forums.aspx?forumID=188&AID=65412#512175. Now by doing this is puts both links in your URL history. So in order to get back to the page you were on before you will need to click the back button twice.

Yes, indeed, it is normal behavir for buggy IE. Good browsers (such as Firefox) don't do that. Previous page button brings you to the previous apge, as it should.
I guess this is the one aspect of WC that is more Firefox friendly.

Hey jim2006193, just wondering why you would pull up a four month old thread which is answered and dead just to put a bunch of smiley faces on it??

IE6 is not buggy Paxx - It still is a faster browser then Firefox.

@ Apprentice kona0197

IE is faster than FF cause it does not load the important security modules you know. Thats why it is such fast.
