I'm new here and how do I put different startup screens on my computer?

I'm new here and I want to know how do I put different startup screens on my computer and other things like mouse cursors and toolbar icons. I'm new to XP.

Cordelia has done an excellent job trying to guide newcombers. I cant think of a better place to start.
