I have sounds disabled too....always have. Found them annoying, the only sound I want is my winamp playing. The only sound I do have enabled is the new mail notification (the notify.wav).

Actually, I hate it when my computer makes sounds I didn't ask for. My speakers are always turned off, unless I'm listening to music. When I play games I usually wear headphones.

I have most of my sounds set to the Windows XP Balloon.wav....just a quiet little pop to let you know something just happened without interferring with tunes

I make my own sound files. Guess that makes me a wav-skinner.

I have taken sounds from danilloOc's and Tiggz' blinds and substituted almost every windows sound. Cyrix has the best, in my opinion.

I have a mail notification noise that I saw in the movie 'Eurotrip'. It's a bit on the rude side but makes me laugh Otherwise no noises on my PC except for the music I'm listening to.

I only use a few, most from Cheech & Chong's "Up In Smoke"
for Program Error I use the police radio discussion between Cheech and Sgt. Stedanko where Cheech keeps calling him Lardass and he keeps telling him it's Hardhat (codename) at the end Stedanko asks "DO YOU KNOW WHO THIS IS.." "No who is dis is?" "THIS IS SGT STEDANKO" "Oh yeah, Do you know who this is?" "NO" "Bye Bye Lardass" still gets me every time.
For Empty Trash I use the scene in Cheech's car when the cop keeps asking Chong's name. I call the clip Ralph.....
For Critical Stop I use the Myna Bird's "It's a bust"
For Exclamation I have a VERY sexy female voice that says "tell me what you want me to do"
The only other sounds I have on are the defaults for mail and device connect/disconnect.

My Logon is from Aliens: Everybody on line lookin good.

My mail is Tweety Bird saying: What's this a wetter for me? Yes it is a W not a L.

Shutdown is Obie One saying: May the force be with you always.

I do not like the critical wav and error wav ect. I have a Christmas chime for those that sounds like a sleigh bell.

For the error and critical wav I sometimes use The Robot from Lost in Space saying: That does not compute.

My recycle bin is a toilet flushing. Smile!
