How to recommend an article?

I've figured out how to recommend a skin for the personal sites here, but I can't seem to figure out how to recommend an article. The articles don't seem to have a "recommend this item link" like the skins do, I tried the "add to favorites" link but I'm not sure what that does...if anything. 
Am I just overlooking something or for some reason can't recommend articles on my personal site?

Yeah that's what I was trying to do, add some articles to the "recommendations" section of the personal site. I had tried clicking on "add article to favorites" but I wasn't getting any popup conformation like I was with recommending skins, it would go back to the top of the page and there was nothing listed in the recommended articles section on my personal site. *shrugs*
