The logon-screen is only really shown if one of the following applies:
1) You have more than one account on the same computer
2) You have at least one account which requires a password to be entered.
since the logon-screen gets bypassed and Windows boots up without asking you for a password, I suspect you have no password on your account.
If you still want to use the Logon-screen you can do one of the following:
1) enable your guest account by: Control Panel > User Accounts > Guest Account > turn on your guest account
2) add a password to your own account (this is recommended for security reasons, especially if you have administrator privileges). Control Panel > User Accounts > click on your own account and choose the option to use a Password.
