Help - I lost my DesktopX widgets

Thursday, January 6, 2005 by El_Squiddo | Discussion: DesktopX

I have been using Desktop X for some time but now, all of a sudden, my widgets are starting up off screen
somewhere. This happened once before, and Im not sure what caused it but I had to reinstall XP, so the
problem went away. Well, now its back.

Whenver I go to startup certain widgets (ones that I HAD used before) they startup somewhere offscreen
(maybe). Of course, without a system menu I cannot retrieve them or even figure out where they have gone.

For example, one that is missing is the VectorCellWeather. When I launch it "VectorCellWeather" shows up in
the Task Manager Applications list - but there's no window.

Where did my widget window go and how do I get it back? Im not sure if its starting up offscreen or just
never comming up. Any insight anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

you can try to import them to DesktopX, then select them in the list of loaded objects, open the properties dialog and set the left and top properties so small values like 100, 100.

tried that- the widgets run just dandy when Im running DesktopX - they show up onscreen no problem. Apparently its just when Im running them as standalone EXE's that there's a problem.

ugh.
