Installed cursors not showing up in CursorFX
Saturday, November 8, 2025 by BBartCP | Discussion: CursorFX
I reinstalled CursorFX v.4 and only the preinstalled themes are showing up in the program. When I go to one in my archive that I want to add and double-click on it, it says "This theme is already installed. Use the CursorFX window to activate it." But it is not listed in the Cursor FX window. How do I get CursorFX to display it in its list?

That's already where they all are. Others are installing but not one I have always used a lot.
Hmm. I had always used the .CursorFX file, which also works for the rest of them that I have tried. However, I just downloaded the .CurXPTheme file and that one did work.

Out of 84 Themes I have, 13 are .CurXPTheme. Also, for some reason, in CursorFX 4 the last Theme file alphabetically in the Themes folder will not show in the config app. The fix is to copy any theme, paste it in the Themes folder, and rename it Zzzz.

This is very weird, because the one I wanted that was not showing up was - like yours - the last file alphabetically in the Themes folder. The only difference is that mine was a CursorFX file that wouldn't show up. When I added the CurXPTheme file for the same cursor, that one became the last file in the folder, but it is also the one that now shows up in the app.

That is very interesting. Thanks for sharing that info.

Once CursorFX themes are installed, they are stored here: "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\CursorFX\Themes"
Check this folder to make sure all your themes are here. If not, download them and instead of installing them, just drag them to this folder and they should then show up in CursorFX.
