Start 2 refuses to stay centered

Saturday, October 4, 2025 by gevansmd | Discussion: Start Menu Products

I have a problem with the Start 2 menu not honoring my choice to be centered.  I was hoping the latest update would fix the issue.

I'm using Windows 11 24H2.

I had a temporary fix by uninstalling and reinstalling the app, removing the old settings during the uninstall.  If I did not choose to remove the settings the un/.re did nothing, However, the problem returned after a short while.  It's a pain to remove the settings and have to manually restore them.  Is there another workaround?

Update:  This time I saved my settings before the un/re and reapplied them.  For now, the menu is centered.

How are you setting centred?

Position start button in the center of the taskbar.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you're having issues. We need more details please.

  1. Windows 11 24H2 OS Build number?
  2. Start11 Enhance taskbar turn on or off?
  3. Position Center set on Start11 setting? And Windows Center was off?
  4. Any other application running that add or change something on your taskbar?

Thank you,

don't know where to find the Windows Center option.

Right click on taskbar-> taskbar setting-> Taskbar behavior -> Taskbar alignment -> This one should be default to Left.

Next, Please try, uninstall Start11v2 reboot immediately (important), download latest version available (Start11v2.56 beta) from your account product download page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products.  Install it, reboot immediately again. Retest it and report back.

The taskbar was set to centered.  It's NOW set to left.

The uninstall and reinstall steps you listed are the ones I've been doing.

Let's see if the taskbar setting fixes the issue, although why would it work for a while before moving left?
