Please take a look at this thread and see if that may have something to do with your issue: https://forums.stardock.com/538234/page/1

basj, as stated in my original message I did what the error message suggested (which is the same thing you suggested for me to do) I already did this with no success. I have reperformed this per your request with no success. Error message remains as follows:

Click on OK and WB appears to work fine.
Just irritating to deal with.

JanOscar, I did look at this. Does not appear to be the same issue. It appears that the issue that was addressed in that post was not resolved and ended up with the same error that I am getting. I was experiencing the same issue with the context menu as LaraHCroft91 and created the reg entry as outlined in reply 10. That issue was fixed. This was about a month ago. The current issue just popped up in the past couple of days. What additional items on that thread do you suggest I try?

Remove the reg entry. Reboot. Does the problem still happen?

What I did was,
- I did the purge and while running the purge, I get error message saying some file can not be deleted. I just click ignore or something, I don't remember now. let it continue until purge is done.
- Reboot the system. After the reboot, I go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\WindowBlinds. The directory still there and there are some files which can not be deleted before. I delete off the "Windowblinds" folder.
- Just to make sure, I reboot again, might not be necessary. Re-install the latest installer available in my account product download page. Reboot again after the install is done. And, so far, I don't see the error popup again.
This might also work with just uninstall/reinstall as long as you check if all the files in the Windowblinds get removed properly. This is just to make sure when reinstall, those files get replace with the correct one.

Neil Banfield, I removed the reg entry, error message has stopped appearing.
thanx, barry
The regkey is just a test workaround for the Firefox issue.
Just ignore the message if you need that set as it doesn't stop anything working.

You just have to click it off everytime.
REALLY??

You have two choices for now
1. Remove the test registry key and use Firefox as before with the unskinned file open dialogs. This is the supported WB setup.
2. Keep the registry key and just ignore that message and use the test dlls.
The registry key is purely there as a short term workaround for Firefox blocking the standard dll names. Due to this it has the side effect of that prompt.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try, uninstall Windowblinds, reboot immediately (important), download latest version available in your account product download page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products. Install it, reboot immediately again. Retest it and report back.
