Windowblinds problem - screen distortion

i've got WB 4.0 Enhanced. when I use it my screen is distorted around the edges. kinda like how when you adjust the concave/convex settings on the monitor. but instead of just being either, the sides are wavy, moving in and out instead of a straight line. i dunno what the prob is. any ideas?

Are the lines actually moving or just wavy looking but static? I recently saw some real weird stuff right before my monitor died. So that's one possibility as carolelee mentioned.
Ordinarily I'd say it's likely not WB causing it. But what about when you aren't running WB and are using either the Classic or Luna style "skin." Does it appear ok and normal?

have a cordless mouse or keyboard near your monitor? How about a small fan, wireless router or something else slapping it with EMI?
The other possibilities could be.
refresh rate set to high.
refresh rate not set high enough.
you have extended the viewing are beyond the bounds by a pixel or two on the sides (this can
happen when you change refresh rates, btw)
monitor is crapping out.
Your using the generic or wrong color .ICM correction settings in display properties.
oh and a few more... but
start with the refresh rate settings and also how far you have stretched the viewable area...

Could also be interference from nearby powerlines. Experienced it at one place I worked where the 415V lines from the street entered the building on the other side of the wall where the monitor was.

deguasing might help, also it might sound stupid...
but the earth has magnetic lines running at various strengths located at different points as different times.
I've actually seen reference to this in Monitor manuals, about placing the monitor facing west or east with the sides running due north/south to see if your in a hot spot...

i've had my office oriented in a way that makes me 'confortable' and even more 'creative' while i work. wouldn't it suck if that orientation clashed with that of my monitor's magnetic position.
my second monitor is always kinda loopy.. by that i mean, i get some interlace distortion now and then. but i'm certain it is because of the pull of the primary monitor port being next to the second monitor's port, as the signals are leaving the card. its happened on my last two monitors and at the last 3 places i've lived. anyone else have that issue? this is on a radeon 8500 - agp 4. i've always wanted to fix it but never knew quite how to go about it. i don't have an open port between the video card and other cards, but i have moved the audigy card as far away as possible and that i would think would be the first culprit.
ice - i cna't imagine how WB would have an effecton your screen's geometry, turn off WB and tell us if you still have the problem. more likely it is somethign everyone else here has mentioned. or, your plug might simply be loose.

to clear it up, i the sides aren't moving, just static in a wavy pattern.
don't have that problem running unsigned visual styles, just WB.

but actually i noticed something, the distortion is there with vistual styles. it's just not as bad. but the weirdest thing is at the desktop there's not much distortion, it's almost straight. but open a fullscreen window and it bends worse. open a second window and it it doesn't get worse, but just bends a different direction. and as you switch between the windows, the shape changes.

Well, I guess that's what happens when you hack your system files. I would get rid of the hacked system files. I would reformat the hard drive and reinstall the operating system without the hacked system files. Then, install windowblinds. This might cure your problem. You didn't mention that you hacked your system files in the opening thread. Windowblinds and the Bootscreen program here doesn't hack the system files. You are safer with them, regardless of whether this will actually solve your distortion problem. Because, your system will be more stable. Good luck.

It sounds like your monitor is the problem.
Large areas of black or white will alter the shape. It will curve out for lots of white and in for lots of black. I even once saw a monitor that went out of focus briefly when you maximized a window.
A good monitor can switch from almost fully black to almost fully white without the edges of the screen moving at all (just like a TFT monitor)
