Accent Color missing
Thursday, June 27, 2024 by 3java3 | Discussion: Curtains
For some reason, the Windows 10 accent color no longer shows up as a mouseover on the all programs list that is part of the start menu for certain, various Curtains skins. Instead, I get a very faint, and hard to see, almost invisible, very light mouseover effect. I wonder what I might have done to cause this? I shut the computer down, and rebooted, thinking that maybe it was just a temporary glitch, and that Curtains or Start11 was just having a headache. Unfortunately, that didn't solve the issue. I am running windows 10, 22H2 version, Curtains version 1.19.1. I am not running any other start menu apps, save for the standard, default win10 start menu.

I made a short video to give an idea of what my issue is.

Come to think of it, I recently downloaded and installed a transparency program called Moo0 that makes start menu's more transparent. There may be a conflict between that and Start11. I uninstalled that, and updated Start11 to the most recent 1.5 version, and my problem still persists. I am now wondering if a recent minor windows update is ultimately responsible for creating this issue? I am pondering doing a system restore to see if that will make a difference.

I'm not running any Window Blinds, but my Windows 10 machine shows a semi-transparent gray highlight, the same as Basj describes.

My concern is not about the default Win10 start menu. My issue was about the Start 11 start menu, in particular, about the accent color mouseover on the all programs list. I went back in time about a week and a half ago, and did a system restore back to a previous restore point. And now my problem is solved. Here's a animated gif that will explain what I am now seeing.

I suspect that a recent minor windows update may have been responsible. Start 11 version is currently at 1.47. Thank you system restore!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I just checked and look like I can not reproduce your issue on my Windows 10 main and Windows 10 VM. It always with dark gray semi transparent bar on All program hover over item. Same thing with Curtains skin applied or changed to Windows 10 default theme. It might be I am looking at different thing altogether. It best if you can post a video what you expected to see and what you're seeing. So that we understand the issue better.
Thanks.
