Object Dock question

Thursday, January 8, 2004 by Mas0n | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I have the latest version of Object Dock. It works properly for a while, but I find that after some use I am no longer able to move each docklet to any specific location I choose. Instead, however, they quickly bounce back to the very location I try to move them from. Any suggestions?

Hmm...is "lock dragging" checked when this happens? (Right click on an empty area of the dock, you can check or uncheck it).

They're suddenly working again!
I didn't change any settings at all, yet I suddenly have the ability to organize them again.. *shrugs* It happens often, and it's very strange to say the least...

Heh. Sorry I couldn't have helped further. The dock does seem to have some occasional "oddities". For example of my shortcuts keeps losing its path. No biggie though.

I have noticed that when I have no windows opened on my desktop, the docks are very difficult to rearrange, but with at least one window open, they can be rearranged easily.

You are absolutely right, and you've solved my rather bizarre problem. I think it should be noted to all that one must have a window open in order to rearrange their docklets successfully, and maybe they could even fix the problem in future versions of Object Dock as I consider this a definate bug!

Even odder. I just tried this and it's the same for me. I guess I've usually had windows open in the past when trying to move the icons around.

I just hope someone of admin status takes notice of our thread, and tells someone about it as I don't think there is any 'bug report' links anywhere that I know of.
