has anyone figured out how to make a dialup connection short cut for objectdock yet?

i'm sure if you've tried to add you dialup connection to the dock you've found it doesn't work. i figure it can be done using a vbs script like the run or shutdown vbs scripts, but i'm not very fluent in vbs or xp to know how to do it...
is there anyone who knows how to?

ack...that's sucky...
there's gotta be a way to do, and i think it lies in the registry...i saw some vbs scripts that make a call to the registry for older os's to load it...but it's different on xp's registry...

i found some info on a website explaining that under win98 whether or not you are currently connected to the net is stored in the registry.
however those keys dont exist in the winXP registry, i looked.
to dial a dialup connection, you need to issue a whole series of API commands, and watch for errors, eg no dial tone. i have looked into this, but havent got around to trying to write a KLP plugin to do this yet.

there may be a way to do this in a script, but i dont know much about windows scripts, so my answer is based on using C++ and writing programs.

Actually I have been using a Dial-up shortcut on Objectdock since the dock exists. All I do is create a shortcut of the dial-up connection on the desktop and then point my objectdock to this shortcut (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\YourNetworkConnection.lnk)

It doesnt have to be the desktop. It could be anywhere I think, just so long as you could link to it.

Just tried it in XP with OD 1.00.006 and it doesn't work
The method works with TabLaunchPad just fine, however.

i suspect you will need to either find a pair of existing programs that dial and disconnect your connection that you can call via object dock, or hope that someone writes some plugins to do this.
