no flame needed or intended...

Your posts do yourself justice without a doubt and prove out the fact that your in no need of help at weilding the brushes for the picture you paint...

As far as back up's go, as stated before, monthly back up is more than enough until a need for more is otherwise noticed.

Keep painting, it might get really interesting in the end.

Its not so much that you think they should have done something different. It isn't a bad idea to have daily or weekly backups. The problem is your uncalled for name-throwing. You are adding insult to injury. That makes those sypathetic to the plight of pixtudio mad.

Hey guys....enough already. Johanne took the time and effort to give their customers a heads up that there was a problem and how to resolve it. Period.

I'm confident they have enough headaches without this. How they run their business is just that....their business. If you have some thoughts has to how you would 'Backup' your system or run your own business...start your own thread.

Thanks yrag. Anyways, thats too bad about pixtudios site. Clearly someone has way to much time on there hands to do anything usefull with it. I mean, if this person is intelligent enough to have the skills to hack a site, why not put these skill to good use, with skinning or whatnot? I'm reminded of UzEE unfortuntately, but I still think it would be a better use of time.

An ethical hacker has a career in security waiting. The unethical hacker veiws security from the other side of iron bars

Lets just hope Pixtudio is back to normal soon.

Johanne....is there anything I can do?

Wincusto went all gaga for me yesterday so I couldn't even comment here....

To the rest.....

'moron' comes under the heading of personal attack.  Personal attack will get you removed from this site.  There were/are ways of conveying the concept that ' a more frequent backup would have been wise', without insult.  No-one will be able enjoy a 'long thread' with only a short future due to inappropriate behaviour....

Good to hear that, Renato...

Hacking of this kind should just be a capital offence.....would soon put a stop to the kiddies....and get them before they can breed....

A note about the topic, if not ontopic. It is generally accepted that announcing a hack is of benefit to the hackers themselves, and therefore unwise. Our friend here could easily be responsible and basking in his work.

Black hats are little sh*ts mostly, bragging about acts they didn't actually commit. If your site doesn't remain defaced long, then they rely on screenshots ( which are mostly faked ) or your announcing it to prove they aren't just blowing smoke. Best not to contribute to their 'glory' and just refer to such things as 'technical difficulties'.

Yes they have their moment of tarnished glory, but if more people become aware of the crimes the more likely it will be stopped. I understand the point of view of ignore and they will stop, and in some instances this is the case. However in this instance that is not the case, hackers need to be stopped and ignoring them won't help a bit. They will do worse things just to get attention.
Erk.

....Yes, and it will be that *attention* that will be their downfall, hopefully.

I certainly agree with Fuzzy and Jafo....

Shoot 'em, hang 'em, then burn them at the stake! >
