Actually there is a spell checker plug in/add on for Firebird. Let's see if I can find a link. (Haven't tried it myself.)
Back again. OK, here's a link to a post on a sire with info about a spell checker which someone made for Firebird. The post has more links to the actual program and more info. Hope that helps.

Does anyone know of a sort of universal i.e systemwide spell checker? It seems stupid to me to have to have separate spell checkers for each application that you're in!
I've got a dictionary/thesaurus app http://wordweb.info/free/ which will take *any* highlighted text from any app (even some dialog boxes!) and do it's stuff - but if the word is not spelled correctly it can't find it.
Something like this that would correct the spelling would be great.
