The quest for Wincustomize subscriptions is exactly that....to help the site prosper, and has little or nothing to do with Stardock at all.
The ideal is that Wincustomize.com, as an entity can [as much as possible] pay its own way.
Since the recent demise of the Server and the ensuing database restoration, etc it's important that the site stand a bit better on its own two legs financially without such a massive influx of funding from Stardock's coffers.
Anyone really frequenting the site and 'enjoying' its use should ideally see that it is in his/her interest to assist in the site's viability, that's all...
Most people come to realise that a community is about 'give and take' but perhaps others maybe forget it's a two-way street...

never will be a 2 way street with me.
I have nothing in the way of money to give.
I have no credit cards or debit cards.
So even if i had a printer I would not have the money to back it up.
And I am NOT going to pawn my stuff just to support this site.
I have worked to hard for the things i have witch isn't that much.

...apparently so we could *support* him, which it seems we fail miserably at. Perhaps if the community was better supported than ...er.. this is a little circular. Like Jafo said about the two way streets and all.
Sorry Kona, I only opened my mouth to answer your challenge. Now I am having trouble shutting it...
goodmorphing needs a break from all kinds of stress too. Time for that shopping spree I have been threatening to take.

Just a little tired of not being respected.
A little while ago I keep my mouth shut for a solid week. Didn't even visit WC. Of course no one noticed. Not that I care.
So exile is looking good right about now.
That is if the choice is subscribe to get resoect or not.

1- A person is wiling to help by purchasing a subscription or product because he/she likes or is interested in the product and in the process will be helping the website that is providing features to enhance his/her desktop.
2- A person does not help by not purchasing anything because he/she finds no need or use for any of the products offered by the website. In which case it will help most by not making any type of comments or excuses in the matter of how hard and unnecessary it is to obtain any of the products.
In short. Either a person helps and enjoys their acquisition or doesn’t help and remains anonymous.
