Theme Editor: Copy and Past
Wednesday, February 15, 2023 by d13531 | Discussion: CursorFX
Is there a way to copy a cursor from one theme and paste it in another? I tried, but when I pasted, there was just the circle with the slash through it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. ๐

Thanks for your reply, Basj! I would like to take a ‘hand’ cursor from one CursorFX theme and paste it in a different theme in the CursorFX program. I know you can do this within a theme, but it would be cool to do this between themes. ๐

Check the theme file's attributes...it may be read-only and can't be altered until you reset the attribute...

This is an example of what I'm trying to do...copy from the theme on the right and paste it in the one on the left:

I believe, that is not possible.

Try creating a new theme and then copy and paste the cursors from other themes that you want to use for your new theme. A little more difficult, but I think it will work. You might also have to recreate the settings in the right panel for the animated cursors.

Thanks for the idea. I will try that and let everyone know if it works. ๐
Edit: It didn't work...bummer.
Edit #2: never mind, I got it to work! ๐

Glad to hear you were able to make it work. I thought I had done that before. I don’t have my laptop with me, so I was unable to test it before I suggested it.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, cut and paste from where?
To create your own cursor. This is how I usually do it. Prepare all my cursor states graphics. Standard select, Help select, Working in background etc.
Once all is done, I use the import graphics button for each State. And fill up those boxes with appropriate number.
Repeat again and again until all the Cursor States is done. (20 States) if you wish you can do the 20 more states for the "pressed state"
Thanks
