Curtains vs WindowBlinds

Hey guys, did I read somewhere that applying a windowblind skin will automatically unload Curtains and vice versa?
If so, I have issues. I was testing a Curtains skin for someone, and loaded a WB to test for someone else, and I ended up with a screwed up mix of the 2 skins.
I had to unload curtains and reapply the WB in order to fix it.
Is this normal?

Somehow I don't think we're talking about the same thing. (?) I think you're referring to #4 here:
https://www.wincustomize.com/terms-of-service
which is the TOS for WinCustomize and is referring to the WinCustomize user account.
I'm talking about being logged in on your computer with two different user logins for that computer and switching between those two user logins on your computer, nothing to do with WinCustomize.
Seems like two entirely different things, so I'm a bit confused.

Generally speaking applying a WB skin will disable a curtains skin and vice versa.
Universal apps may however be less happy due to how they work and how WB and Curtains have very different ways to implement things.
I got tiles from the curtains skin on the WB start menu, plus the taskbar buttons from the curtains remained as well.

As for the additional user login, it will work, but I don't run either WB or Curtains full time. I only test the skins and check for errors/bugs.

A right click option on the systray icon to unload Curtains (like WB) would have been conveient.

Yes, and it works. Not much better than the other workarounds tho.
Why?
Thats what effectively would be happening normally just for some reason isn't happening for you.
I am afraid thats the best solution we can offer you right now and doesn't seem like an enormous hardship to turn off one product before switching to another especially as a curtains style is disabled extremely quickly.

Neil, I thoroughly appreciate all that you do. I know you have a lot on your plate, especially with Windows 11 and all.
But.
Again, the point of this conversation is that applying a WB "should" disable Curtains, and vice versa.
Tons of workarounds, and I am willing to do them. But that isn't what is "supposed" to be happening.
So, can we address why it isn't happening?
I'll provide any extra info pertinent to my system if needed.

This all raises the question of why still have the two programs? I know they do slightly different things but they do overlap a lot and this causes confusion.

It will become moot when W11 becomes the OS. Curtains doesn't work on W11.

Curtains was designed to be a much simplified product over WindowBlinds. Working differently and doing a lot less but with less compatibility risks too.

Jim, here's one other thought for what it's worth -
If you're finding yourself wanting to look at Curtains skins and primarily running WB, set up or use another user login and leave it loading with Curtains. You can then just "Switch User" to poke at the Curtains skins, avoids the full log out/in. I've used that approach when parked in Curtains and wanting to look at WB/SKS.
Sorry, DaveRI, but it's against the rules for one person to have more than one active account at a given time. Per #4 in the TOS, you can change your password, and open a new account whenever you wish, but you have to close the old one - per Jafo.
