Both the machines I plan to use for Win 11 pass the current minimum requirements, but as I said earlier, I think MS will have to downgrade those in order to get as many PCs as possible to run 11. If they don't then users able to run it will fall far below MS' hopes for uptake..
That's exactly what I was thinking. Surely Microsoft isn't ignorant enough to think that millions of people will want to , or even be able to, spend many hundreds of dollars on new computers , or CPU's , or graphics cards etc. just to be able to install Windows 11. I think it best we all just take a step back and be patient as it all plays out before the release date.

I can tell start10 don't work on windows 11, have used the beta will try windowblinds later it is not promissing

I've seen the Zorin OS on Majorgeeks and other sites but never bothered to download and try it. Maybe it's time I investigate it to assess it for future use.
As it is I have three machines that are Win 11 compatible, but Shaunna's and Steve's PCs are not compliant with 11, so hopefully MS does downgrade those minimum requirements to allow them and millions of others to upgrade.
From what I've seen thus far, Win 11 has something for everybody, from content creators and entertainment fans to gamers and people who just want to connect to friends and loved ones, but so many of them will not be able to take advantage of 11's new and improved features as things stand.

I use Zorin OS on a virtual machine. I wouldn't use it as my only OS unless I had to drop windows due to Microsofts ineptitude.

I've decided to look at it this way. Win10 still has 4 solid years left on it, and so much can happen over 4 years. In the meantime, Win11 will either load or it won't, that would be up to Microsoft.

I'm just hoping I can make the taskbar black but keep everything else on the light mode. I dislike dark themes.

Looks like I won't be trialing the Zorin OS, then. Lack of driver and Win 32 programs support has dampened any idea of giving it a go. Not only that, if it doesn't run Stardock apps then it's pretty much dead in the water for me. I like to change the appearance of my desktop by more than just a wallpaper change.
Oh well, there's always Ubuntu. I've tried it several times and I may just revisit it to see what's new.
