Which is the fastest browser?

Tuesday, August 26, 2003 by joetheblow | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Microsoft Explorer?

Just kidding. Just the facts people. I have only tried Netscape myself and it not that much faster then ei but maybe its because of my computer (Netscape takes allot of RAM)

I really like the Juno Browser even though it technically isn't a browser on its own (uses ei)

So what browser you use and what browser do you think is the fastest?

Too bad the ebay toolbar is one of those exact pieces of Spyware I mentioned.

Sorry if it's a little off topic, but I tried Opera and I mostly like it. Just one thing bugs me though. One feature I like the most about MyIE/Avant Browser, is the one button "Allow/Block Pop ups". Push the button and it blocks the popups, push it again and it allows it. I use that feature a lot because I usually block them but some on some sites they are necessary. Is there a way in Opera to customize the toolbar to add such a button? I know you can do it from the menu, but it's not as easy. Any Opera fan can anser that?

Another diehard MyIE2 user here........ but due to some of the comments in this thread,  I tried out Opera, and Firebird .

Opera, you can have it ............ it just doesn't feel right......
Firebird is a keeper!  Koasati likes!

Opera is an acquired taste. It iz quite a bit different than any of the other IE imitator's or even Mozilla/FireBird.The skinning,in particular is absolutely astounding. Some of the best skins on the web,IMO.They also install by a click.None of this put it in the right folder and then guess which option the author used to pack it.MyIE2 Skins with WindowsBlinds will crash your machine. paxx-I do not have a good answer for you but can point you to Operas boards.I can safely say they are some of the nicest most helpful people I have found. No question goz unanswered. No snide remarks about not getting support there, they are fantastically run origination.I will never use another browser, unless I have to,i.e. Windows Update, and I can not find a way to make WC Skin Browser to let go of IE.
Anyone tried that Microgarden Tool that gives IE tabz?

I use IE and Avant Browser. I use Avant Browser when I want to load up a bunch of sites at once and then just browse through them all. It also allows you to save your session and return to browsing if you haven't finished (kind of like starting to read the newspaper, putting it down to do other things, then going back to it later. I like being able to apply skins that change the buttons, etc., but rely on windowblinds for skinning the rest. The pop-up blocker in Avant Browser catches some of the pop-ups that my Popup Ad Filter misses.

Well,,I must admit,I have all these browsers on my computer. They all have stand alone unique features. They are all fast,With some customization.MyIE,my last browser love affair, ended with the release of the latest version that would black screen my computer because of a conflict with WB.Avantz very cool, kinda boxcar, still has issues with WB as well,i.e. Favorites menu display-very ugly.iRider very cool too,but the skinning iz non-existent and all based on the already exposed as insecure-no tabz very very Fisher Price look IE.All these browsers are very quick for me.Opera is clearly the choice browser to have.Fantastic support, very fast, depending on personal preferences,Skinz from heaven and talks a different language than MS/IE altogether.
