Animation Scripts that don't Loop

How to Create am Animation Script that doesn't Loop

Saturday, November 21, 2020 by pelaird | Discussion: CursorFX

I may be missing something, but I don't see any way to create an animation script that doesn't loop. I have tried the "repeat 1" and "end repeat" which still loops.

From the CursorFX Guide: "CursorFX will execute from the first to the last token, then loop automatically."

The only thing I have found to work is to set the ms value on the last token in the script very high!

If anyone knows a better way to do this, please let me know. Thanks!

Hello,
Would like to know what version of CursorFX you're using?

Thanks

Okay, so I figured out a second way to accomplish an animation script that doesn't loop. If I create a png strip with with each cursor state repeated the number of times required to extend the ms of play I want to accomplish.

Any other suggestions?

That's what I do. The scripting doesn't work the way they say it does and Cursor FX does not include the AniUtil program like they say it does.

As they say where? AniUtil has to my knowledge never been included with CursorFX, but was part of Skinstudio Pro as it was called way back in the day.

AniUtil.exe, included with CursorFX to select a batch of separated frames and automatically build an optimized PNG strip. Here the word “optimized” is very important in order to save runtime memory when using themes. AniUtil can automatically detect what the unused (blank, or zero alpha) margins are on ALL selected frames and cut them when building the PNG strip. That way the common frame size will be the smallest necessary, to include all visible (or whose alpha is > (greater than) than tolerance) pixels of all frames.
The AniUtil.exe utility is located in your \Program Files\Stardock\CursorFX folder, unless you installed to a different folder.

You are right! Do Stardock still link to that 12+ year old pdf guide?

Don't know.

I don't know why they stopped including it, it's just a little bitty thing.

Could be some copyright issue. The program was made by Alberto Riccio. He also created DesktopX for Stardock if my mind serves me right.
