Kona...ignore him....just a recent exile...
Sending death threats via email is a federal offence...in Australia it's our Commonwealth Police who handle it..in the US it will be the FBI....the Telecommunications Act prohibits the use of the Phone system in this manner.
His ISP can be contacted and he will be banned from that Provider...and he may also expect a visit by the Black Helicopter brigade.
He isn't the first, nor will he be the last....

kona - everyone is right, you should report it to his ISP and it wouldn't hurt to mention it to your local police too. Maybe they have a geek on the force that would love to track this guy down.
and meanwhile, also like people said, don't worry. There's not much you could do to stop a determined killer hiding in the shadows with a high powered rifle...

kona, I'd recommend you show it to your local police, or the state cops. They'd probably like to send someone over to interview this guy... and it'd be better for you to know if the guy lives in another country or something.
yes China, that's better I'd rather see you than Jerry though...
